Ask God

In Isaiah, the forty-fifth chapter, we read: "Thus saith the Lord, ... Ask me of things to come concerning my sons. ... I have made the earth, and created man upon it: ... I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways."

A mother sat by the beside of her little son. "I have asked no one what the trouble is," she said fearfully to the Christian Science practitioner whom she had called for help. The practitioner lovingly replied, "Let's ask God concerning His son, for His answer is the truth which will heal the child." So they turned to God in humble, expectant prayer for understanding to know and do His will. And their prayer was answered: the little lad was healed, and the truth and practical availability of God's infinite love and power to meet their human need were demonstrated.

What is God's man? God knows man as perfect, even as He created him, His own image and likeness, to whom He gave dominion over all the earth. The very first fact recorded in the Bible regarding man is that God created him thus, and the account in Genesis continues that "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good."
