There Is No Death
Sometimes a little child left for the first time in a Christian Science Sunday School seems overcome by the fear that he has been separated from love, joy, home, and security because the father and mother who expressed these qualities to him are out of his sight. The workers in the Sunday school strive to show him not only that he has not lost his human parents, but that wherever he is he can never be separated from his Father-Mother God; that he can never be bereft of comfort; that he can never be lonely or afraid, for he is ever held securely in the arms of Love.
We see so clearly that the child's fears are groundless, that he will quickly learn that he has lost nothing in the experience, and that, through the truth that is unfolded in Christian Science, he will gain freedom from fear.
Christian Science teaches us how to see the truth clearly when, to human sense, some dear one has passed from our sight. We are not alone, for Truth and Love and Life are always present. The love, beauty, goodness, and joy that were expressed through the loved one are immortal qualities of Mind. We are therefore not deprived of anything real, for life, which reflects Life, God, is not a quality or condition of matter, and is not lost. Life is God, forever expressed in spiritual man and the universe. The reflection of God, Life, cannot be worn out, exhausted, or destroyed, for Life is unchanging divine Principle. Man, in God's likeness, cannot express both strength and weakness, joy and sorrow, life and death, for man is now and always has been the complete and perfect reflection of unchanging Life.
