This Is Our Warfare

Brothers , let us importunately pray
To stand in Christian unity on guard,
Conceiving man aright, lest foe retard
True scientific knowing day by day;
To prove the opportunities we share
(Nor pride nor fear can hold our standard high):
Mentally to resist the encircling lie,
Nor dread the forms the aggressor seems to wear.

This is our warfare. In a world of thought
Each individual must do his part:
We must be watchful every single hour—
Each moment of that hour—we must be taught
Of Christ, draw closer still unto that heart
Where no accuser is, where Love is power!
