Christian Science accepts the spiritual record of creation as found in the first chapter of Genesis; it acknowledges God as the only creator, and proves, on the basis of reason and demonstration, the consequent unreality of anything and everything that is unlike Him. It accepts without equivocation or evasion the statement, "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made," knowing that "the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal."

Our critic betrays a lack of knowledge of the subject, and an ignorance of well-established and generally accepted facts. Let him be assured that Christian Science has healed innumerable cases of inveterate disease, both organic and functional, often after other means had failed. It will continue to do so in ever-increasing measure as human pride and prejudice are subordinated to the will of God, and mankind is elevated "from a theoretical to a practical Christianity" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 341). In healing the sick, Christian Scientists are obeying the direct command of Christ Jesus, who by destroying disease proved, not its reality, but its utter unreality.
