A feeling of deep gratitude impels me to write this testimony.

I had stomach and bowel trouble, and had tried several kinds of medicine, but without any relief. Then I consulted doctors, and at last a specialist, but was steadily getting worse. I had given up all hope of ever getting better when a friend called at my home and told me of Christian Science. He said that it had been his only doctor for sixteen years, and he was a very healthy-looking man. So I decided to try it as a last resort.

I borrowed a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy from the public library, and began reading it along with the Bible. After a few days I was convinced I had found the truth, of which Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." I soon returned the borrowed copy of Science and Health and purchased a new one, also a Christian Science Quarterly, and began reading the Lesson-Sermons. I had been told that many were healed just by studying the Bible and Science and Health, but that if anything seemed too distressing I should ask for help, so I asked a practitioner for help for the bowel trouble. On the third day a complete healing was manifested. To me it seemed as though a miracle had taken place.
