It is with great joy that I give this testimony, to express a little of the gratitude I feel for Christian Science, which I have been studying for twenty-eight years.

During a time when I was grief-stricken and despondent over the passing on of a loved one, an acquaintance gave me two copies of the Christian Science Sentinel. While I was reading these, my sorrow vanished. I desired to know more of this comforting truth, so I sent to Boston for a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I read the textbook, although I did not know how to apply what I read. Shortly thereafter I received a letter from my brother in a distant city, telling me of his wonderful healing of constipation and piles. Two medical specialists had told him he could be benefited only by having an operation. A friend had advised him to try Christian Science before submitting to the operation; he had gone to see a practitioner and was healed in one treatment. I had had the same trouble for several years, and after pondering my brother's account of his healing, I decided to visit a practitioner in another city. While I was visiting the practitioner, I was healed.

Since that healing, I have reared my family of four children in Christian Science, all of them having had the privilege of at least a few years in a Christian Science Sunday School. My fourth child was born while I was having Christian Science treatment, and the birth was very harmonious. We have had many healings in our home, for which I am most grateful. One healing, which stands out especially because it occurred early in my study, was experienced by our son, when he was fifteen years of age. He was stricken with appendicitis. When it was in its last stages he turned wholeheartedly to Christian Science, and he was then instantaneously healed.
