"One pearl of great price"
Human beings are constantly craving for something. No sooner is one want supplied than a desire for something else appears. Yet lasting satisfaction has never been found in material gain. Through Christian Science, many are discovering the truth of real being, and thereby finding permanent satisfaction. Thus comes a sweet sense of contentment and joy, a willingness to surrender a false sense of responsibility, for one awakens to know that of himself he can do nothing.
Christian Science reveals the truth about God and His perfect creation; that He is the Father-Mother of man, the only cause, and the source of infinite supply. Therefore when, through Christian Science, one becomes conscious of his real being, he knows that man cannot be separated from God, nor can he lack any good.
Relinquishment of the false sense of self is the first step toward true peace and the realization of the kingdom of heaven within. It is at this point that one's work begins—not the hard labor of human striving, but a change in one's thinking from a material to a spiritual basis.
