It is with deepest gratitude that I testify to the wonderful healings and blessings I have received through the study of Christian Science. I did not have much instruction in Christian Science as a child, for at that time my family was only becoming slightly interested in its teachings, but I am most grateful to have been able to attend the Christian Science Sunday School, though for a very short time. It was there that I learned "the scientific statement of being," as given on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The truth contained in this statement stayed with me all through my school and college years, and was a continual source of comfort to me. When it was necessary for me to do work in the laboratory. I found that "the scientific statement of being" would be present in my thought to silence any suggestion concerning the reality of matter which would arise.

I did not, however, seem to have the desire to follow Christian Science closely, and during my high school and college years I did not read Science and Health at all. I began to find, however, that material learning and material theories could not satisfy; that they left me with many doubts. It was in a feeling of utmost despair that I turned to an earnest study of Christian Science and found in its teachings everything I had hoped for, because I was learning to change my thought from a material to a spiritual foundation.

The fact that there is only one power, and that that power is good, has been demonstrated so much in my personal experience that I could not for one moment doubt the omnipresence, omnipotence, and omniscience of divine Mind. I have been healed of an extremely bad and malicious temper, severe chest colds, and rheumatism in my back, and I have been preserved from accident. About four years ago I experienced a very bad fall, and seemed to be suffering from internal injuries caused by this mishap. The physical manifestations appeared, for a time, to be most alarming, and if I had not the loving care and advice of a practitioner at that time, the apparent seriousness of the situation might have seemed more real to me. After a year of treatment I was healed: a small growth disappeared in a painless and normal manner. I had no medical or physical aid.
