I should like to give my experiences and to testify to the many blessings I have received in Christian Science.

After the passing on of my husband, and later, of my son, I became a very sick woman. I was first under the care of one doctor and then of another, and when the fourth seemed to be doing me no good, my family thought that rest and quiet in the country would help me; so I was sent away for three months. But on returning home, I was much worse than when I went away. The doctor was again called in to attend me, and he said I must be removed to hospital for an operation. After eight weeks in hospital, I felt worse instead of better, and asked to be discharged. After returning home I continued to get worse.

This was my condition when Christian Science was first brought to me through the influence of a friend of my daughter, who knew that she was very anxious about me. When my daughter first spoke to me about Christian Science, I had never heard of it, and thought it might be something to do with spiritualism, so I said I did not want to know anything about it. After being asked several times if I would see a practitioner, I said, "Give me another week, and then if I am not any better, you may call her." Before the end of the week I was getting worse, and did not care what happened to me, so I said that she could come to me.
