Whatever holds human thought in line with unselfed...
"Whatever holds human thought in line with unselfed love, receives directly the divine power" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 192). The indisputable truth of this statement has been revealed to me through the daily study of the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, and this study has given me a joy and satisfaction which hitherto I had not known. The revelation that one possesses God-given power to overcome sin and sickness has brought me health, strength, and happiness. By rising early in the morning to study the Lesson-Sermon, I have been able to perform the duties of my position more efficiently and to work with my fellow employees more harmoniously.
I am profoundly grateful for the privilege of having been a member of the Christian Science organization at the University of California, Los Angeles, California. The increased spiritual understanding which comes through serving on the committees, and the friendships made at the organization meetings, stand out in my memory as the high lights of my college career. Membership in the college organization was to me a course in how to live rightly. There is no course to be found in the university curriculum which gives one such practical teachings as are gained through Christian Science. The lessons I learned while a member of the organization, from attending the meetings and the occasional lectures, have remained with me and are an ever-present help in my daily experience. The assistance received through studying the references and reading the articles provided by the committees of the organization at examination periods is a blessing for which I can never express sufficient gratitude.
I am also very grateful for the enlightening explanations, found in the Sentinel and the Monitor, of passages which occur in the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly. From my study of these Bible Notes I have received much benefit and a fuller understanding of the spiritual meaning of the Lesson-Sermons.
