In his letter in Monday's Rand Daily Mail, "Efsee" wrote: "But man, in general, will never generate sufficient enthusiasm to attempt the arduous task of trying to follow the nebulous theorizing, disguised under a spate of incomprehensible formula, which theosophy, Christian Science, and kindred philosophies introduce to him."

Grouping Christian Science in that manner with theosophy and similar theories may be misleading to "man, in general." In her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, states (pp. 110, 111), "No analogy exists between the vague hypotheses of agnosticism, pantheism, theosophy, spiritualism, or millenarianism and the demonstrable truths of Christian Science."

The philosophy of Christian Science teaches the allness of infinite Mind and the unreality of what physical scientists call matter. Its teachings are not "disguised under a spate of incomprehensible formula," but elucidate the teachings of Christ Jesus in the clear, crisp, lucid diction of the above-mentioned textbook.
