My first healing in Christian Science, years before I...
My first healing in Christian Science, years before I took up its study, was of influenza. A practitioner was notified of the trouble, and in a week I was back in school, entirely free. I have since witnessed the healing of an infant son of pneumonia when it was said that he could not live through the night. Help has also been received in time of lack; and courage and relief have been gained on many occasions.
Perhaps I am most grateful for help received in childbirth. One harrowing experience had taught me that I must really study and put Science into practice. My fear was extreme, yet the truth in a letter from a practitioner destroyed it. Through the careful study of Christian Science I learned to acquire the necessary calm and poise, although my environment was most inharmonious. The baby's birth, practically without pain, was a wonder to all in attendance.
Before the arrival of another boy I was seized with a mesmeric dread. I felt that I simply could not go through the experience. I mentioned this to my mother, and instantly the angel thought came that I was glad of the opportunity to prove the power of Truth. I felt I was ready. The baby was born early the next morning without painful warnings, quickly and very peacefully. The third boy arrived in the same harmonious manner, no anesthetic being used.
