Some twelve years ago I heard of Christian Science for the first time. It so appealed to me that I attended the services Wednesday after Wednesday. Next I bought the Christian Science textbook and the Quarterly and began to study zealously. Partly through my own study and partly with the help of a practitioner, I was able at length to experience many beautiful healings and blessings. A serious trouble with my hand which, according to two doctors, would always cause severe trouble, disappeard suddenly. I awoke one night feeling absolutely secure in divine Love. It became quite clear to me, and I was happy to know that Love never could have given anyone a crippled hand. The following morning, for the first time in a long while, I awoke with my fingers straight and painless. Profoundly happy and grateful, I endeavored to study this glorious truth more earnestly. A severe inflammation of the throat, which had already hardened and, according to the doctors, had to be operated upon, disappeared in a few hours, thanks to the loving work of the practitioner. During a confinement I was healed in a few hours of a severe inflammation of the lungs. An ugly case of head grippe caused me to ask help from the practitioner, and a quarter of an hour later I went to sleep, to awake the next morning well.

I have also seen glorious healings for my children. A case of blood poisoning in our then twelve-year-old girl disappeared in less than two weeks, whereas a year before she had been afflicated with same sickness for six months. Our boy was healed of painful intestinal colic. For all these and also many, many other healings we are infinitely grateful.
