The implied recognition of Christian Science as a healing...
Register
The implied recognition of Christian Science as a healing method, in remarks quoted in your issue of January 2, is appreciated. However, the listing of Christian Science among curative systems that are material in quality and practice may have given readers of the Register a wrong impression.
Therefore, please let me state that, while healing the sick is an essential part of this Science, Christian Science is more than a method of physical cure, for it is a Christian religion that destroys sin, sorrow, and all types of discord, as well as disease.
Christ Jesus healed both physical and moral disorders by utilizing spiritually mental means, and said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also." Mary Baker Eddy discovered and proved the laws underlying the Master's healing work, and named her discovery Christian Science. In Christian Science all cures are accomplished by the method Jesus used. Consequently, Christian Science is properly classified as a religion that includes Christian healing.
