It is with deepest gratitude I wish to tell of the healing power of Truth as I experienced it over eleven years ago. The healing has remained permanent. For over eight years I had not known what it was to be without pain. I tried everything materia medica had to offer and underwent two operations, but without relief. The condition was known as prolapsis of the stomach with its attending disturbances. The other organs had become affected, and there was a condition of constipation. I searched for health in the best hospitals of Canada and the United States, and finally appealed to the specialist who had previously operated on me, begging him once more to try to help me. His words were, "If you are the person whom I have on record there is nothing materia medica can do for you; try Christian Science."

Previous to this I had received a few copies of the Christian Science Sentinel from a friend, and shortly afterward a lecture was to be given where I lived. Through the loving help of a sister it was made possible for me to attend this lecture. The desire grew to know more about God, as once I had read in Psalms, "My help cometh from the Lord," and I held to this truth. I then visited a Christian Science practitioner, who treated me for over a year, part of which time I spent in bed. One day I arose, saying in the words of the Bible, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." I gradually learned it was not food, but the fear of food, that caused the suffering, for the Bible says, "Fear hath torment;" and I now had learned that God made all good and there could be no pain in good. Many times I had gone to the practitioner's office relating to her an experience of grief, with its accompaniments, worry and loneliness. This day, as usual, I referred to my great sorrow, but on leaving her home I realized that I was completely healed; and I have never suffered again from that grief. The healing of stomach trouble was slower, but through the study and search for Truth many faults were corrected and overcome. I am now able to partake of food with perfect harmony.

For the physical healing I am truly grateful, but for a better understanding of God, a greater appreciation of our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and a growing desire to live more the life of our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, and for the privilege of class instruction, I am most truly grateful.
