I have been a student of Christian Science for twenty...
I have been a student of Christian Science for twenty years. My first healing was of neuritis of the optical and aural nerves. The sight in the right eye and the hearing in the right ear were seriously affected. One reputable specialist told me that total blindness and deafness would probably occur within the year. The condition had caused me to leave my work as a teacher in the public schools, and I was very much discouraged. I had also become dissatisfied with the teachings of the orthodox church to which I belonged, and was wandering in the unhappy mists of agnosticism.
I was led to investigate Christian Science, and was healed in a very short time through the reading of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Black glasses and a green shade which had been worn constantly were discarded, teaching was resumed, and a full year's work finished with no trouble. I was enabled to pass a difficult examination with high grades, and to secure a much better position through the practical application of my new understanding of God and man as God's child.
Since my marriage I have found the truths of Christian Science to be invaluable in the care and training of my children. I am particularly grateful for the overcoming of fear of contagion and accident. We have had beautiful healings, in many cases instantaneous, of measles, mumps, chicken pox, diphtheria, pink eye, whooping cough, a broken nose, chorea, toothache, skin eruptions, appendicitis, acute indigestion, and typhoid pneumonia.
