In gratitude for healings received through Christian Science several years ago, I am sending this testimony. A condition of what was called by the doctor intestinal paralysis followed an operation for peritonitis. For three days I suffered terribly, though the doctor was in almost constant attendance. After doing everything in his power to relieve me he gave up, but said if I would submit to another operation there was "one chance in a hundred" of my recovering; otherwise, I should surely pass on. He then left to make arrangements for the proposed operation. When my wife, who had just begun the study of Christian Science, told me all this, I refused to leave the house, as I knew I could not survive another such experience. She asked me if I would be willing to have Christian Science treatment, and I willingly assented.

Fortunately for me a loving practitioner took up the work, and that same afternoon the rigid muscles relaxed; from that hour I rapidly improved. However, during this illness I had become extremely thin and nervous, and had many bed sores which seemed to prevent my sleeping, and the night became unbearable. The condition was spoken of during a conversation with the practitioner, and the following night when I awoke with that difficulty, suddenly a beautiful sense of peace came over me and I experienced immediate relief.

Though as yet I am not a member of a Christian Science church, as is my wife, I must bear testimony to the healing power of its teaching.
