In the March 21 issue you quote a clergyman as saying that Christian Science "denies the personality of God the Father and of His Son Jesus Christ; it denies the reality of sin and the reality of the Saviour; it repudiates absolutely the blood atonement."

Certainly the clergyman did not get his information about Christian Science from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy; nor did he get it from any of Mrs. Eddy's other writings. On page 116 of Science and Health Mrs. Eddy writes: "As the words person and personal are commonly and ignorantly employed, they often lead, when applied to Deity, to confused and erroneous conceptions of divinity and its distinction from humanity. If the term personality, as applied to God, means infinite personality, then God is infinite Person,—in the sense of infinite personality, but not in the lower sense. An infinite Mind in a finite form is an absolute impossibility."

Christian Science teaches that God is neither a human or material personality, nor a magnified man. Christian Science regards God as did Christ Jesus, who said: "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worhsip him in spirit and in truth." Christian Science also teaches that sin is unreal; that God neither created sin or a mighty devil with power to create sin; nor does His law sustain or support either of them.
