After seven years of stomach trouble, during which time...
After seven years of stomach trouble, during which time I was almost constantly under some physician's care, I was placed with a specialist. After examination he insisted that I enter a hospital for observation and treatment, and there it was discovered that the stomach was out of place. In spite of much treatment of various kinds and after hope of ever being well again was practically gone, there was no improvement until I learned of Christian Science. During this period I also suffered severe pains in the back of the neck. An X-ray showed that parts of the vertebræ were displaced.
With the help of a Christian Science practitioner and by reading and studying the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I gradually grew better, gained in strength, and increased some seventy pounds in weight. Friends who had not seen me since I turned to Christian Science failed to recognize me because of the changed physical condition. The pains in the back of the neck ceased, and there has been no recurrence of either the stomach difficulty or these pains. Along with the improved physical condition came improved home and financial conditions.
I am very grateful to God and to Mrs. Eddy for Christian Science and for the establishment of the church and its activities for the betterment of conditions surrounding mankind.—(Mrs.) Leona B. Thomas, Buffalo, New York.
