I did not turn to Christian Science for physical healing

I did not turn to Christian Science for physical healing. A student of Christian Science, seeing me downcast and not knowing which way to turn, asked me if I would call on a practitioner for a talk. To please her I did, but was saying all the time, How can she help me? Not knowing anything about Science, I did not ask for help, but things seemed to look different to me and I went straight to the library and borrowed "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Without any help other than my reading I was shown the right way to take. At the same time blood tumors of the bladder vanished. I had had the tumors for about thirty years and had to be operated on about every two years to have them removed. At the time I first read Science and Health I was never without cocaine in my purse when I left the house. I did not know for over a year that the Christian Science Quarterly which I saw in church was to help us in our study at home.

Some years afterward I fractured my hip. This was not overcome at once, so I called a practitioner and the difficulty was met in one treatment. My husband was not a student of Christian Science and thought it best for me to have an X-ray picture taken, which I did. The doctor said the bone was set perfectly.

I am grateful for all these blessings, but more so for the spiritual understanding; also for class instruction and for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church.
