I could never write in one testimony all that Christian Science...
I could never write in one testimony all that Christian Science means to me. It has healed me of many physical conditions, cleansed my thinking of much pride and selfishness, and brought into my life great confidence and peace and comfort. It is revealing to me the nature of my true selfhood as a child of God, and showing me that I no longer need be deceived into accepting a counterfeit selfhood.
I can never express sufficient gratitude for the constant support extended to me by Christian Scientists after the passing on of a loved one. The love and tender patience given to me so generously and so abundantly helped to lift my thought above grief, where I was enabled to perceive that life is continuous, and that there is no interruption in God's plan for His child.
Christian Science came into my life when I was a medical nurse. I was called to report for duty on a case, and on arriving at the home of the patient, found one of the most serious conditions I had ever known. After many weeks, during which all the earnest efforts and care of splendid physicians had failed to heal the patient, the infection became so virulent that a surgical operation was performed. This operation was followed by a second one. Within a few hours erysipelas developed, together with other serious complications, and the patient lapsed into a state of coma. At this point the physicians held a consultation, their last orders being to make the patient as comfortable as possible until she passed on. In this hour, after all human help had failed, a Christian Science practitioner was called in; and through the earnest work which followed, the patient was restored to health. In a short time I was able to take her out of the city for a rest and change. Truly the understanding of the Christ as explained by Mrs. Eddy in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," is sufficient to heal all manner of disease, and to turn every midnight hour into a glorious resurrection morn.
