The True Embodiment

IN "Unity of Good" (p. 39) Mrs. Eddy writes, "As the image of God, or Life, man forever reflects and embodies Life, not death." Then the substance of spiritual reflection, man and the universe, is the only real embodiment that exists; and it is complete, incorruptible, immortal. Nothing has been or can be taken from, or added to, God's reflection.

Since, as our Leader tells us, man in God's likeness forever reflects and embodies Life, he coexists with eternal Life, Spirit, and has no material embodiment, no perishable element. As God's own spiritual idea, no harm can touch man, for he exists always and only as the emanation or reflection of perfect Mind; and man has and knows no other substance than that of Spirit.

It is written of Moses and Aaron, and others, that at a time of great spiritual illumination "they saw the God of Israel . .. and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness." Purity beholds perfection.
