I was a very small girl when my mother was healed...

I was a very small girl when my mother was healed through Christian Science of neuralogic headaches from which she had suffered for years. About the same time my brother was healed of asthma. Both healings were permanent. As the years went by, Christian Science brought many blessings into my life, and a deeper longing for more understanding, which culminated in class instruction from one of Mrs. Eddy's loyal students. Following this came membership in The Mother Church and finally in a branch church.

At the birth of our last child conditions were most harmonious, so that the birth was painless, and in a week I was up and caring for my family, consisting of husband, father, and three children. Later, through failing to "stand porter at the door of thought," as Mrs. Eddy tells us to do on page 392 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," I was suddenly stricken with muscular rheumatism, being literally bound hand and foot. Being very tried, I at first thought I could rest, and let the practitioner and nurse dig me out of the pit. I did not improve, but rather grew worse, until I realized that I must work out my own salvation. From the time that this realization came to me I began to improve, and was soon able to be about, praising God for His wonderful goodness. I have seen sciata, deafness, whooping cough, sprains, chicken pox, influenza, and many other ills overcome through Christian Science treatment. Sometimes the help of a practitioner has been necessary, but many times the children and I have worked out our own problems.

I could not be happy for one hour without this wonderful truth, and I thank God for revealing to Mary Baker Eddy the way of freedom from all the ills of the flesh.
