It is now about four years since I took up the study of Christian Science. During that time I have had many wonderful proofs of its healing and uplifting power, and I am more grateful than it is possible to express. Although everyday "is big with blessings," as Mrs. Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (Pref., p. vii), yet some experiences and healings stand out more vividly than others.
Through studying the Bible and Science and Health (the Christian Science textbooks) I have been able to make quite a number of demonstrations myself. When needing help from a practitioner I have had absent treatment, and it has almost invariably resulted in quick and sometimes instantaneous healing. It is difficult now to recall that I was once a highly strung, nervous type of person, having constant breakdowns in health, spending weeks in nursing homes and health resorts, and money on various kinds of treatment. I suffered with neuritis, neuralgia, neurasthenia, heart trouble, and affected eyesight, and was a victim of chronic constipation for over twenty years. All these and many minor ailments have been banished by the power of Truth as revealed in Christian Science.
The most wonderful experience of all—that of harmonious and practically painless childbirth—it was my privilege to have only a short time ago. It just seemed to be one beautiful demonstration after another, and I can honestly say I have never been so truly happy in my life. My nurse, who was a very sincere and honest Christian Scientist, brought a wonderful sense of peace and harmony into the home. It was indeed a beautiful and convincing experience, for which I can never be sufficiently grateful.—(Mrs.) Grace E. Rowntree, Pickering, Yorkshire, England.
