Knowing from experience how eagerly a beginner in Christian Science turns to the testimonies for help, I wish to add mine in the hope that it may encourage someone to have absolute faith in God. I remember with love and gratitude the two faithful Scientists who, eighteen years ago, walked two miles through a severe snowstorm to introduce me to "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. That was the beginning of a new life for me, for after reading the Preface and the chapter on Prayer I was healed of chronic constipation. This proof that the healing Christ is present with us to-day, filled me with joy unspeakable. My husband was so impressed by this healing that he took up the study with me.

Before we had become firmly established in Christian Science, one of our sons showed signs of deafness. I took him to a specialist, who found a very serious condition of the ears, which he said would cause total deafness in the course of ten years unless it could be overcome. I said, "Can you guarantee a cure?" He replied, "Oh, no! but I will do the best I can for him." After leaving the office I asked my son which he preferred, treatment by the doctor or Christian Science. Quickly he said, "Christian Science;" so I placed him under the care of a practitioner, and through her loving, faithful work in three months he was completely healed. During the war he passed the examination for entrance into the navy, proving that his hearing was perfect.

Another son, when four years of age, was healed of peritonitis. He became delirious in the night, but the seeming danger and suffering were overcome in one day, and in four days he was perfectly normal. Several years later he had six so-called salt-water boils on one arm, three of which were infected; but in a few weeks they entirely disappeared.
