Current Notes

Philadelphia Public Ledger

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Fourth Church).—Ground will be broken within the next few weeks for the new building of Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist, Hoffman Avenue and Cobbs Creek Boulevard. It will replace the temporary building erected ten years ago upon the eastern portion of the large lot. Colonial in style of architecture, the new building will contain an auditorium which will accommodate five hundred persons. It will be two stories high, with the main facade facing Hoffman Avenue. The body of the building will be of selected colonial brick, trimmed with limestone and terra-cotta cornice. The big portico, with four massive limestone columns, will be approached from the street by wide brick-laid steps. The ground floor will be used for the Sunday school.
