More than twenty years ago I was healed through Christian Science...

More than twenty years ago I was healed through Christian Science in Berlin, Germany, where I had gone for study. After one year's work I was told by a physician that I would not be well for two years, and would have to diet and be careful of my health. At this time I was chosen by the director of the Conservatory to appear in one of the main roles at the operatic performance given in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of the Conservatory. In ten days I was healed by Christian Science and sang with success. At once the desire came to know what had healed me, and I began the study of our beloved Leader's inspired book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."

Although I had been confirmed in the Evangelical Protestant church and had sung for years in churches, my trust in God had almost vanished. With the study of Science and Health, however, I found a God that I could have faith in. I have never ceased striving for a higher understanding of God since finding Christian Science. Many times I have been healed of serious physical troubles, nervous breakdown, extreme weakness, colds, headaches, and many other troubles. At one time I had all the symptoms of appendicitis, but was healed in a day. Often I have been refreshed and uplifted from fear, doubt, sorrow, anger, coldness, impatience, hurry, being overexacting, shouldering responsibilities not my own, and many other false mental conditions through the study of our Lesson-Sermons, the Bible, and Mrs. Eddy's writings. Our periodicals continually prove oases in the desert. I am grateful to those who make them possible. The Monitor has been an educator and companion.

For the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, also for class instruction, I am truly grateful. I thank God for our revered Leader, for the Board of Directors of The Mother Church and all true followers of our Cause; also for the patient, vigilant practitioners who have healed me. Christian Science is the greatest gift that has come into my life and the song of songs.—(Miss) Amanda Vierheller, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
