[Written for the Sentinel]

With God

Begin the day with God;
Know His presence doth surround thee,
Know His arms are round about thee,
Know no evil can confound thee:
Thy life is hid in God.

Go on thy way with God;
Let no lack of time excuse thee,
Let no subtle errors use thee,
No false pleasures e'er amuse thee.
Keep thy close walk with God.

Then end the day with God;
Grateful be that tasks have proved thee,
That no claim of sin hath moved thee,
For the peace of God that soothed thee,
The perfect peace of God.
