My attention was first called to Christian Science in 1908. While I did not take it up for any physical condition, I found while reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy that several minor diseases disappeared, without my knowing when they left. I became so interested in the book which was lent to me, that I soon decided I wanted one of my own; and I secured one in a short time. Since then Christian Science has been my only physician, and has met my every need. Pneumonia was healed in a few hours after the practitioner was asked for help; also, a severe attack of kidney trouble and a shortness of breath that I had been bothered with since a child have been overcome.

One day, while I was doing some sewing on a machine, in some way my finger got under the needle, which passed through the nail and came out on the other side of the finger. My sister helped to get the needle out, as it was badly bent; but as she was not interested in Christian Science I asked her to leave the room so that I might do my mental work. This was instantaneously accomplished, and there was never any soreness in the finger.

I am so grateful for the wonderful understanding Christian Science has given me of the Bible. Now, the Bible and Science and Health meet my every need. Words cannot adequately express my gratitude to God and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who was so pure and patient, and who bore the cross until she was able to make known to the world God's ever-presence. I am also grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church.
