Having been many times helped by the testimonies in Christian Science, both written and spoken, I desire to add mine, and to swell the great song of gratitude to God for His most wonderful gift to His people in our day and for His messenger, Mary Baker Eddy, through whose loving and unselfish labors we have been enabled to find the Rock of Truth, Christ, and to make practical use of the Master's teachings again, in the healing from sin, disease, and even death. Though I did not come into Christian Science for healing, I have had many proofs of the power and presence of God to heal and deliver us from mortal bondage of all kinds. The light in the beginning was so convincing that I never had any doubt of this truth as given in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.

Among my first experiences of healing was one from blood poisoning, attended by stiffness and discoloration. A large pin was accidentally driven into the vein on my wrist. I at once withdrew it, declaring the truth of being as contained in Science and Health, on page 468. About four days afterwards fear seemed to be getting a hold mentally, and I thought I should have to seek help from a practitioner. On reaching home I had an opportunity to read quietly from the textbook. In only a few minutes, quite suddenly, the black veil of fear fell away, and I was free. For some time afterwards the discoloration showed up occasionally; but as there was no more fear, it had no power.

A few months ago I had an experience in the healing of erysipelas in the ear and face. For this I had the loving and unstinted help of a practitioner. The manifestation was rather unsightly, so to quiet the fear of relatives (and also in case it should be reported) I had a doctor diagnose it. He said I must, if it got the least bit worse, have some one in to look after me. I promised, but I felt it would not get any worse. Within ten days I was back at business. At that time the wind was very cold and boisterous; but the protection of God is sure, and experience healing was established. I was most grateful for this experience and for the light it brought me in the added proof of the great love of the Father.
