A recent healing in Christian Science has inspired me to contribute to one of our helpful periodicals the testimony I have so long considered. One Saturday morning I set out to the city on a shopping trip feeling rather tired after an unusually active week, but trying to deny the condition. Soon after reaching the city I became faint and suffered from pains in the stomach. I telephoned a practitioner for help, and made my way to a department store. Here the pain became acute; and a kind Samaritan offering help, I had her telephone the practitioner again. An acquaintance came in at this moment and had me removed to the clinic maintained by the store. After lying down not more than ten minutes, I was able to put on my wraps and start for home, stopping on the way to telephone the practitioner that I was almost free from pain. The entire experience did not last more than two hours. A much milder attack many years ago lasted nearly a week under medical treatment.

This healing has given me much joy, as my previous healings through the help of Christian Science, although much quicker than would have been possible under materia medica, have been slow compared with it, and I was afraid that I was very dull and unreceptive to Truth. I have known of Christian Science for ten years and have studied seriously for the last five. My mother's healing of many complaints, some suffered from since childhood, first brought it to my attention, but I did not begin to study for myself until I went away to college and was given my own books. In college it was my sole reliance. Only through the strength and guidance obtained through trusting in the one Mind could I have done four year's work in three years, with honors, and earned part of my way at the same time.

Among physical healings experienced have been influenza, sprained ankle, pneumonia, yellow jaundice, constipation and hemorrhoids, headaches and colds. But, needless to say, I am even more grateful for healings in character, professional environment and intercourse. It is a privilege to live in this age, blessed with "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which reveals the true way of Life, and with the Manual of The Mother Church, which guides all right activity. I am grateful for the entire Christian Science organization, grateful to God, to Christ Jesus, and to Mrs. Eddy, who was so pure and wise and strong as to be able to reveal this blessing to mankind for all time, and to the loving practitioners, always at their post, loving and patient; and my prayer is that all may come to know the only true God.
