Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for Christian Science

Worlds are inadequate to express my gratitude for Christian Science. It has been my constant help for over twenty years, and in that time I have received numerous benefits. Mrs. Eddy tells us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." This I have proved many times during my study of Christian Science.

It was at a time of great need that Christian Science was brought to me over twenty years ago. All material means had been exhausted, and I had been given up by the doctors. In this dark hour a loving Christian Science practitioner came to me and asked if I would not try this wonderful truth, which had so much to offer. I was too ill at the time to do otherwise than at least want to try it. My healing was slow; but for this I am thankful, because I learned the lesson of patience.

The doctors had pronounced my case incurable, inasmuch as I was suffering from tuberculosis, cancer, and hip disease, on account of which they said that should I recover I would never walk, as I would be crippled. I also had blood poisoning, caused from an injection in the arm. I was in bed for nine months, and for three months after leaving my bed I was a cripple. During this confinement my only friends and attendants were Christian Scientists. We were living at this time in a small town in the West, and the practitioner thought it best to keep outsiders from seeing me and thus opening a way for criticism either of myself or of my family. My healing came after about a year of helpful, loving work by the practitioner.
