About ten years ago, Christian Science found me a physical wreck. I was manifesting all sorts of false conditions, was utterly discouraged, and life to me was not worth the living. My mother, who had heard of Christian Science, procured a copy of Mrs. Eddy's book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," sending it to me with the express wish that I read it. As I had been taught to obey, I reluctantly began to read, although I did not care to do so, as I felt I knew all about the Bible! After reading the first page of Science and Health I began to feel the uplifting power of the truth contained therein. I continued reading day after day, night after night, until hope dawned and life had a newer, brighter outlook. I then inquired to learn who might be interested in Christian Science, and was directed to the loving home of kind friends, who secured the help of a practitioner for me. While the healing was slow, yet it surely came.

Christian Science has since been my only help in every hour of need. Whatever the problem, or whatever the phase of error, it was always uncovered and destroyed; and so effectually, that it is with positive assurance I can say that Christian Science does heal. I have been cured of many ills: inflammatory rheumatism, uremic poisoning, colds, influenza, nervousness, and so on; but the greatest of all the healings was the spiritual healing.

The proof of God's protecting power that stands out in my consciousness most clearly is my being freed from fear. I am so thankful to Mrs. Eddy, who made so many sacrifices to put forth this great truth which is proving itself to be the great redemptive and healing power. Being one of the many "millions of unprejudiced minds—simple seekers for Truth" (Science and Health, p. 570), I express my unbounded gratitude for the blessings that have come to me and to mine.
