In 1923 a kind friend brought Christian Science to my notice. At that time I was suffering from functional trouble and had been under the care of doctors for eight years, having had little or no relief. Finally, I was told there was practically no hope for me. Here Christian Science intervened. I visited a Christian Science practitioner and asked for help, which was very lovingly given. During the first few months the difficulty entirely disappeared, but after a short time reappeared. Treatment was lovingly continued by the practitioner, and I tried to realize that such a discordant action could not possibly continue, since God governs the real man. The healing was fully accomplished in one year. To me it seemed slow; but compared with eight years of medical treatment, it was remarkably quick.

My heart goes out in gratitude, not only for the physical healing, but for the healing of mental depression. The day used to begin with a sense of worry and end with a sense of chaos; now it begins with a sense of freedom and ends with a sense of peace. I am grateful to God for the spiritual uplifting, to Mrs. Eddy, to the Sunday school, and to all the dear friends who have so lovingly helped me. For all these blessings words fail to express my gratitude; and I rejoice that I am able to help others as I have been helped.
