Grace

"The miracle of grace is no miracle to Love."—Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, page 494.

How can we know the truth of grace divine,
Unless we know a love so deep, so true,
That, free from self and all demands, all sign
Of condemnation, we can look clear through
The outward seeming to the image pure,
Can let our love shine round it like the light,
With tenderness, compassion, feeling sure
That God's reflection must be ever bright?
Unless we love like this, how can we know
The love which grows beyond itself to grace?
How can we let all selfish effort go,
And know that God alone fills every place?
Oh, Father-Mother God, teach us to know
Thy love, thy grace, and let them heal us now!
