"I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will...
"I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works." Oh, that I might praise Him in words to express the gratitude that is overflowing in my heart; but such thanksgiving can be given only in deeds.
Some ten years ago my mother received a physical healing through the loving work of a Christian Science practitioner. For a few years she was the only student of Christian Science in our home. It was, of course, her great desire that her children should enter the Christian Science Sunday School. I was attending another church then, and strongly opposed Christian Science; but divine Love gently opened the way, and in another year I was attending the Christian Science Sunday School. The blessings received there have led me to appreciate childlike receptivity more, for through it we enter the kingdom. When I finished high school I went away to a normal school in a town where I knew no one. During the year error tried to disturb me with the suggestion of homesickness, but divine Love, as revealed to me in Christian Science, showed the way to conquer it.
I have experienced numerous healings through the study of Christian Science, having overcome colds, burns, sprained ankle, sorrow, and limitation of supply. Last year, while teaching in a small town, I had a healing which made me very thankful. One afternoon a teacher and I were walking home from school. She was not a student of Christian Science. She was talking about one of her pupils who was absent on account of an accident. Hardly had my friend described the accident when I fell on the sidewalk, apparently experiencing the same difficulties. This teacher was much alarmed; but, realizing that I had been asleep at the post of duty, I reassured her, and got to my home as quickly as possible. At that time I was staying at the home of a Christian Science practitioner. I told her what the problem was, and asked her to treat me. This healing seemed to require about a month. Meantime it was suggested to me that I have some stitches taken; but I relied entirely on God, and my healing was complete. I did not miss a day of school.
