My appreciation and gratitude for the innumerable blessings...
My appreciation and gratitude for the innumerable blessings of Christian Science are unbounded. As a religion it is incomparable, recognizing as true one power only and that the all-inclusive power of God, who is infinite good. Sickness vanishes under the supremacy of this infinite power, as I can cheerfully testify from my own experiences. Various diseases, some critical,—heart trouble, scarlet fever, influenza, and many minor ills,—have yielded when the truth has been applied. The healings accomplished through Christian Science treatments are a wonderful uplift, as they leave no record in one's consciousness of the footsteps taken. Only the joy of a closer acquaintance with God remains.
I am profoundly grateful to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her works and words of wisdom which unfold the treasures of the Bible, and to the faithfulness of teacher and practitioners, who have lovingly led me to the path of glory.
(Mrs.) Nellie B. Ticknor, New York, New York.
But God gives patience, Love learns strength,
And faith remembers promise,
And Hope itself can smile at length
On other hopes gone from us.
Elizabeth Barrett Browning
