God is the Builder

God is the Builder! Know'st thou not that He
Chose one foundation for eternity?
The Rock, the Christ, stands ever firm and sure;
Built on that Rock, thy structure shall endure.

God is the Builder! It is He alone
Who lays for thee the precious corner stone;
His are the loving hands that all the while
Must shape the columns of each holy pile.

God is the Builder! Dost thou fear there may
Be lack of stone and mortar for each day?
Heal ye the sick, and feed the multitude!
These are the stones, joined fast by gratitude.
