The statement, "Divine Love always has met and always...

The statement, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need," written by our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 494), was the cause of my first becoming interested in Christian Science; for I literally applied it to my problem, and found it to be true. Several years ago, while attending art school, I found it necessary to support myself, as many students do, by giving my services after school hours for my room and board. At the beginning of a semester I was without funds and dependent upon friends for a temporary home, as I had not found a suitable place to live. A dear friend, seeing my anxiety, asked me to attend Christian Science services with her. To please her I did so. I had scarcely entered the church when I read the beautiful text previously quoted, which was lettered on the wall. A sense of peace stole over me, and instead of anxiety I felt a calm assurance that Love would provide for me in my need. The next day I was offered a position which enabled me to support myself until I found the home I was seeking. It was the most harmonious of all I had been in, and I stayed there until my schooling was completed. With the first money earned I bought a copy of Science and Health.

Many times since then I have had beautiful demonstrations of the power of Truth. While on our way to church one rainy Sunday, our machine slipped on the street-car track and started to skid rapidly down grade toward an oncoming street car. The automoblie was beyond human control, and a crash seemed inevitable. I spoke aloud, "There are no accidents in Truth." Our machine immediately swerved from the street-car tracks and ran to the curb, where it came gently to a stop. This is only one of many beautiful proofs of Love's protecting care.

Christian Science has healed me of many physical ills. Colds, severe burns caused by boiling grease, an ulcerated condition of the mouth, have been met almost instantaneously. Dental work, which formerly was accomplished only with the sense of extreme pain, has been done with no sense of fear and consequently no inharmony.
