As I have so much appreciated the helpful thoughts...
As I have so much appreciated the helpful thoughts given in the various testimonies, it is only right that I should give mine if I can find words adequate to express a small part of my gratitude for the many, many blessings I have received through Christian Science.
All my life, until some few years ago, I had suffered from paralysis of the bowel, and had been in many hospitals and undergone every treatment thought possible by doctors, without any alleviation, until I had got to such a pass that it was said an operation would be the only thing to save my life, but which at the very best would result in my being bedridden for life, with a nurse always in attendance. At this juncture Christian Science was brought to my notice, but as I did not know what it was I scoffed at the idea of anything that seemed so problematical being able to help me, but something urged me to at least see a practitioner, since it could do me no harm if it did me no good. The result was that I canceled all my engagements with the medical profession and relied on Christian Science alone. I had many wonderful proofs of God's care and guidance, although it was not until I myself began to realize that it was only a false claim that was binding me that I got my full healing.
Not only has Christian Science given me health, which it was predicted from childhood I would never have, but it has brought every happiness and harmony into my daily life. It has freed me from many faults of character and has helped me to see others as God's ideas and so help them. With all these lovely things I know there is still much to be done, but while I know that all good is mine as well as that of others, because the good God is, I am getting nearer day by day to heaven, all harmony.—(Mrs.) Nita Mitchell-Elkins, Vancouver, British Columbia.
