My attention was first called to Christian Science and through casually picking the Christian Science Sentinel, in the Public Library, and I soon found out that it was good literature and worth a little study, and I read and reread it. The articles and testimonies seemed to get hold of me and I longed for the next copy to arrive; the papers and books that I had been in the habit of reading did not seem to interest me. It was the Christian Science Sentinel and Journal that I wanted, and in a few weeks I thought I must find out more about this Science. I found that there was a branch church about four miles away, so I wrote to the First Reader and he kindly invited me to come to the service, and I am truly thankful that I did go, for it has been a blessing to me.
I have been healed of rheumatism and a poisoned hand through the loving help of a practitioner, and many little troubles are passing away. I am truly thankful to divine Love for leading me to Christian Science and the study of that wonderful book, "Science and Health with Key to Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and her other works, which are a constant feast. The Bible is an open book now that I have found a "key to the Scriptures" in Mrs. Eddy's textbook. I had been tossed about in the boat of materiality for many years, but thank God I am entering the harbor of Love, where all is peace and joy. The unfoldment of good through the study of Christian Science, both as to better health and spiritual uplift, is a great blessing and I am truly thankful for the kindness shown me by Christian Science friends. I am thankful for all our daily blessings, and know that we have a Father-Mother God who removes all our cares and gives us that sweet assurance, "Be still, and know that I am God."—Henry Pierpoint, Tunstall, Stoke-upon-Trent, England.
