I feel so grateful for the benefits, both physical and mental, which I have received from Christian Science, that I wish to give a written testimony of my healing. In the spring of 1914 I was treated for eight weeks by a physician for inflammatory rheumatism in my knee. He then advised me to try some other doctor, as he had failed to give me any relief. I went from one doctor to another (seven in all) and tried many kinds of treatment. I was operated on twice, with the result that for months I was compelled to use crutches to get about; massaging and severe electrical treatments were resorted to, but all to no purpose. For two years these various material means were tried, but the pain continued. I was able to give up the crutches, but could not walk without using a stick.

Some friends from Ottawa, who had become firm believers in Christian Science, advised me to try it, and I did so, thinking that if it did me no good it could do me no harm. I saw a practitioner in Montreal and so much relief was experienced after the first treatment that I had no further use for my walking stick. In a short time the pain was a thing of the past, and now I am perfectly well. As I gained more of the understanding of "God with us," I became an entirely different man,—my work became a pleasure, and the way seems brighter. The spiritual sense of life has completely overcome the desire for alcoholic liquors and has broken other evil habits.

My desire is to know more of Truth and Love, so that I can help others out of the darkness of materialism into the light of spiritual existence here. I cannot express my gratitude in words for the good I have received from the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and of the Bible, which has become a treasure house through the spiritual understanding gained from Christian Science.—Henry H. Horne, Montreal, Canada.
