While reading Science and Health it became possible for me to abandon the use of tobacco, liquor, and profane and vulgar language, also cruelty to animals. At times I have needed help from other students and have always received it, but sometimes it seemed slow. In October, 1910, I was disturbed about something. The necessity of having some dental work done was apparent, but while the work was progressing I had to ask for treatment in Science for the mental disturbance. The help was given, but there seemed to be no improvement. One evening I went to my room and there audibly declared that man, the image and likeness of God, cannot sin, be sick, suffer, or die. In about fifteen minutes there came a sense of peace, such as I had not known before, and I then perceived that the work of the practitioner had not been in vain, but it was just necessary for me to know the truth for myself.

For these and many other benefits I would make due acknowledgment. Our sense of gratitude grows more spiritual as we learn what Life, Truth, and Love are.
