The happiness which is reflected in the faces of those who attend Christian Science churches is but the result of an inward peace which comes from a knowledge of God and an earnest desire to express the fruit of the Spirit,—"love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance." On page 450 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy says, "The Christian Scientist has enlisted to lessen evil, disease, and death; and he will overcome them by understanding their nothingness and the allness of God, or good." That Christian Scientists are doing this work is evidenced by the fact that not only are the sick healed, but many have turned away from sin in its various forms.

It is confidence in God which leads the followers of Christian Science away from that which "worketh abomination, or maketh a lie." It is this confidence which fills so many Christian Science churches to overflowing with those who are ever ready to testify to the great blessings that have come to them through the understanding of this demonstrable religion. Christian Scientists have learned with David to praise God "with joyful lips," and this joyfulness is expressed in the minutiae of their human affairs. It is the earnest desire of Christian Scientists so to live that all mankind may be blessed through their expression of that Mind which was in Christ Jesus.
