Many years ago, when I visited my daughter in Boston, we attended the services at Trinity church, but I found my daughter more interested in the Christian Science church than in the one of which she was a member. This quite disturbed me, so I called on Phillips Brooks and told him the cause of my anxiety. Very much to my surprise, Dr. Brooks asked, "Why are you disturbed? Are they not a good people, are they not serving God? Do they not strive to follow in the footsteps of Christ?"

Some years after this I found my faith in drugs all gone. While in Chicago, I was taken very ill with a severe cold and was under a physician's care for several weeks. My daughter had a similar attack, but she had Christian Science treatment and was quite well in a day or two. This quick recovery made a deep impression on me, for I was very weak and miserable, and quite discouraged about myself. We then started for California, and while in Los Angeles, to add to my other troubles, I suffered from a painful felon on my thumb. My daughter asked, "Can you not trust that one thumb to the care of Christian Science?" I did so, and was helped at once. In a week's time I was quite another person, for all my ills had disappeared. I bought a Bible, Science and Health, and the Quarterly, and commenced the daily study of the Lesson-Sermons. I had an instantaneous healing of pleurisy, and was also healed of rheumatism, stomach disorder, and other ailments.

I am very thankful for this wonderful privilege of knowing God as divine Principle, Life, Love, Truth, unfolded to us by our inspired Leader, who has given Christian Science to the world.—Mrs. Perry H. Smith, Santa Barbara, Cal.
