After attending many of the beautiful Christian Science...
After attending many of the beautiful Christian Science services in London and on the continent, likewise the Wednesday evening testimony meetings, from all of which I have derived much help and understanding, I feel it a privilege to send my own experience. It is now some five years since a great desire came over me to attend a Christian Science service. I may say that from my early childhood I had been seeking for the truth, never being satisfied with my religious belief and experience. I had studied the various "isms" for years, but gained little help therefrom.
On entering the Christian Science church, I was to mortal sense in a very bad state of health, and although I understood nothing of the teaching, I was much impressed with the simplicity of the service, and the earnest, happy-looking faces of the congregation. I had not gone more than a hundred yards away from the church before a great bodily change came over me, and suddenly I felt perfectly well. This wonderful healing caused me to procure a copy of the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and on reading its pages I found what I had been seeking for years,—an understanding of man's relation to God. It also made clear many things in my own religion. The questions that had always puzzled me were answered.
I indeed found Science and Health to be the key to the Scriptures for which I had long sought. It explained the Bible to me spiritually, and answered the questions which had puzzled me even as a child. To say that I am grateful to God for this wonderful truth, and thankful to the one who has given it to the world, is to put it poorly. My great hope is that I may so progress in its understanding as to help others, and thus sow the good seed wherever I go.
