It is a pleasant duty devolving upon me to testify to the blessings received through Christian Science. Since earliest childhood I was afflicted with an eruption of the skin and attacks of inflammation. All the remedies applied proved a failure. For seven years I suffered with inflammation in the armpits, and despite continuous medical treatment there was no lasting improvement. I had hoped that baths in the North sea would be conducive to recovery, but they intensified the trouble to such a degree that I had to stay in bed for quite a period. The physicians pronounced my case to be chronic. In my greatest need I became acquainted with the teachings of Christian Science and applied for treatment, which was taken up lovingly. The healing which followed soon after the first treatments did not prove permanent, probably owing to my fear and lack of understanding.
In the summer of 1910 I had a more severe attack of the trouble than ever before. During the hours of worry and sorrow which followed, things which I had been unable to grasp heretofore became clear to me, and my healing then made rapid strides. A specialist who was instructed to inquire into my case, told me that I would be unfit for work for weeks to come, as my condition was very serious. A week after this examination I was entirely well, and have remained so till this day. The blessing which has been mine in this instance is immeasurably great, and for this, as well as for the spiritual uplift which I have experienced, I am unspeakably grateful. I thank God from the depths of my heart for having led me to find the peace which passeth understanding, and I am also grateful to Mrs. Eddy.
