The following testimony of healing is given with a feeling...

The following testimony of healing is given with a feeling of sincere gratitude for Christian Science. In May, 1912, I was suddenly taken ill with appendicitis and went to a Christian Science practitioner, who immediately gave me a treatment, whereupon I went to church. There, however, I was overcome by a sense of terrible fear, accompanied by symptoms which necessitated my going to bed at once upon my return home. After a fairly good afternoon the condition grew worse in the evening, but I could see God's omnipresent love in that help came through the unexpected visit of my practitioner. The truth had such a wonderful effect upon me that I was able to call upon the practitioner on the following day. I would like to say that Christian Science healed me twice of such attacks inside of a year, and within twenty-four hours. I was stopping at a seaside resort when the first attack occurred, and the healing was accomplished by two absent treatments by a faithful practitioner, the cure being so thorough that at noon of the second day I was able to eat and relish my food. This, according to the material view of things, would have been deemed an impossibility in the nature of the case.

My dear wife as well as my son have been greatly blessed through Christian Science. She was cured within a very short time of catarrh of the bladder and varicose veins, while my son was healed of severe inflammation of the throat. I have been benefited in every respect through Christian Science,—in a business way, physically, morally, and spiritually,—and for this I am indeed grateful to God, and thankful to our noble Leader, Mrs. Eddy.
