Among the Churches

Current Notes

STILLWATER, MINN. —The little society at Stillwater has been accorded the privilege of holding service in the new prison every alternate Sunday, beginning at nine o'clock. There is a beautiful auditorium, which seats more than eight hundred on the ground floor, and which is reserved for the prisoners, with a gallery seating about three hundred reserved for visitors. Yesterday morning [Oct. 19] there were in attendance about one hundred and fifty prisoners and about one hundred visitors. Almost all of the prisoners join in the singing, in the audible repetition of the Lord's Prayer, and in the responsive reading. The responses are increasing every week.—Correspondence.

RIVERSIDE, CAL.—The two Christian Science churches of this city combined their efforts, and as a result their booth at the fair was very attractive. Here one found a quiet place to stop, where Christian Science literature was provided.
