It is with the sincerest gratitude that I subscribe to the following in behalf of what Christian Science did for me in time of need. Having come out of collegiate courses in nursing and materia medica, my path in Christian Science has occasionally taken me to serious bedside work in surgical and obstetrical service. After these experiences the success with the patient is most gratifying, but I would be the one to pay the price in a sense of overwork, anxiety, and doubt, and would be days and sometimes weeks in getting rested and back to a mental calm so that I could resume my usual duties.

Quite recently I have had three successive problems come up for solution, which were most insistent and meant days and nights of continuous service. I called on a Christian Science practitioner for support through these trials, and the answer came gently, quickly, and completely,—that God's work is done, and that I was only an avenue for the expression of that work; that I was taking the light of Truth into these places, and not body, nor past memories of hospital and college events. The result was such a complete realization of the omnipresence of God that I have been able to continue, without a break, all of my regular work, social obligations, also new work which has come daily, and all this without giving an extra hour of time to recuperation. This freedom, coming after eight years of struggle to hold my own after such experiences, has brought a joy and gladness and spiritual sense which I never dreamed of as possible to me.

I therefore most gratefully subscribe to this wonderful healing, and thank God for the infinite possibilites revealed to us by Mrs. Eddy's noble work in giving us the revelation of Truth, Christian Science.

[Translated from the German.]

I consider it a duty to tell my experience in Christian Science to others. Before I came to this truth I prayed that I might die, but now I thank God that I live, and for the recognition that God is our Life.

After an accident in 1904, I was ill for two years. The physician said I had suffered an injury to the brain and spine, also a shock to the nervous system. I could scarcely sleep without opiates ; and sight, hearing, and memory seemed to be failing. In this sad state I could communicate little with others and could not continue my profession of nurse ; but since I have been in Christian Science I have not taken a drop of medicine, and after a few treatments I was able to eat and sleep, and awoke feeling as it were newborn. Some troubles are not yet overcome, but I can partially practise as a nurse, and I hope by learning to know God better that these ailments also will leave me. I cannot express in words my thankfulness to God and my gratitude to our dear Leader.—Barbara Booz, Stuttgart, Germany.
